STANDARD EQUIPMENT

Channel and I-Beam Mast.
High grade steel mast construction features interlocked channel and I-beam design with roller bearing surfaces. Mast and carriage is of fully-rollered construction for smooth, long-wearing performance. This type of construction accommodates high lifting stresses and maintains load stability.
Fully Protected Electrical System.
SSC and SSCM models have a transistor drive control system for infinitely variable forward and reverse speed control. 12V models have resistor drive control system with 3-speed forward and reverse featuring premium, industrial grade contactors with silver-alloy replaceable tips. Both power and control circuits are fused for maximum protection. Wiring to the operator’s compartment is a multi-conductor, flexible cable, coded and routed within the mast for maximum protection.
Steering System.
Mechanical steering (standard on SSCM Models) is via a large diameter automotive type steering wheel coupled directly to the drive wheel via steel cables affording maximum mechanical advantage for minimum steering effort.
Easy-to-read directional indicator on the operator’s console gives the angular position of the drive wheel to assist the operator in steering and maneuvering.
Brake System.
A large diameter, automotive-type disc brake coupled directly to the drive motor armature shaft, provides high braking force and energy absorption.
Industrial Rated Batteries.
Precision built, lead-acid industrial battery with SB type quickdisconnect connector. (Dual batteries on SSCM.)
High Strength Construction.
The power section frame, main upright baselegs, operator’s platform, overhead guard and forks are all precision welded integral units for maximum strength and rigidity. Mast and platform rollers are specially constructed and feature sealed-for-life lubrication and premium alloy steel for smooth operation, high load capability and long life. Support and vertical translation of the operator’s platform is via dual, heavy duty ANSI BL Series leaf chain.
Chrome Plated Lift Cylinder.
Provides smooth lift/lower operation and maintenance-free long cylinder life.
Pressure-Compensated Flow Control Valve.
Automatically regulates maximum lowering speed within safe limits.
Emergency Power Disconnect.
Pushbutton power disconnect on operator’s console interrupts all power to the truck in the event of an emergency.

SAFETY FEATURES:

Automatic speed reduction when the operator's platform is raised above 24".
Pressure relief valve to protect hydraulic system from excessive pressures.
A biased, pressure sensitive check valve in the lowering circuit automatically prevents the cylinder from lowering should the operator accidentally hang up the load and/or forks.
A pressure compensated flow regulator automatically controls lowering speed should a hydraulic hose fail.
Automatically applies brake and cuts out travel when operator’s foot is removed from "Dead-man" brake pedal.
Chain/post enclosed operator compartment provided as standard fall restraint.
Safety harness or belt and safety tether or lifeline provided as fall arrest features.
Slip resistant surface on brake pedal and operator’s compartment floor.
Steering wheel with spinner knob for secure, single hand actuation.
Steering indicator shows direction of drive wheel.
Convenient push-button horn.
Keyswitch with light indicator prevents unauthorized operation of the truck.
Transparent plexiglass safety shield between operator and telescoping mast componentry.
Overhead guard to protect operator from falling objects.
Push-button emergency power disconnect.
Manually actuated lowering valve for independent operator control of descent in the event of power loss or emergency disconnect (Optional on SSCM).
High-visibility color scheme of truck provides visual alert of truck’s presence for pedestrians and other truck operators.
Flashing warning light to alert pedestrians and other trucks. (Optional on SCM.)
Manually actuated pallet clamp securely fastens pallet to the forks. (Optional on SSCM.)
Automatic travel cut-off when operator platform is elevated past 107" on SSCM and 150" on SSC TRIMAST. Optional on other models at heights selected by the user.
Automatic lift limit at selected heights with override push-button (optional).
